General dentists usually refer patients to a specialist’s office for oral surgery. At Lake Orion Family Dentistry, we have a board-certified oral surgeon and a complete surgical suite. For extractions or biopsies, we don’t refer our patients to another office. Instead, we provide comfortable, expert care right in our office. If you require sedation dentistry by IV for a procedure in our office, the surgical suite will be reserved for you.
Now that’s not to say that we don’t refer patients to specialists. For implant placement and periodontal surgery, for instance, Dr. Greenfield sends patients to well-respected dental specialists with whom he has a longstanding relationship. He wouldn’t send you to anyone he didn’t explicitly trust.
